Care
Years of Protection and Easy Care.
Our products are designed to be easy to remove, clean and replace. Plus,
the fabric is very durable so frequent washings wonÕt affect its
allergen and waterproof protection properties. That is, as long as you
follow a few simple instructions.
Easy Wash, Easy Dry.
All of our products can be washed in hot water (as hot as your hot water
heater can heat it to is fine). OmniGuard® can be air or tumble dried on
no heat settings, while OmniGuard® Ultra fabric offers the added
convenience of drying on the high heat setting if desired.
Any common household detergents and pre-wash stain removers can be used
with the exception of those containing solvents or chlorine bleach. Do
not iron or dry clean.
Between machine washings, clean without removing from your mattress or
pillow simply by brushing or vacuuming.
It is also good to lightly clean the surface of your mattress regularly.
Spray lightly (do not soak) with a household disinfectant cleaner or
warm soapy water mixture. Wipe dry with cotton or paper towels and allow
to air dry completely before replacing your mattress protector and
bedding.
See Warranty section for details on warranty coverage for both general
purchase and products purchased with new mattresses from authorized
retailers.
Easy On, Easy Off.
While BedLiner™ can be put on and taken off as easily as a fitted sheet
or pillow cover, there are a few simple instructions weÕd like to share
with you for BedBarrier® and FutonBarrier™ since they completely encase
mattresses.
- Both are designed with a three-sided zipper to easily apply over mattresses.
- While one person can do it, isnÕt everything always more pleasant when you ask a friend to help?
- Open the zipper, pull the product across one end of your mattress and carefully pull it up around all sides of the mattress, then zipper closed. DO NOT LIFT THE MATTRESS USING THE BEDBARRIER® OR FUTONBARRIER™. BE SURE YOUÕRE HOLDING THE MATTRESS ITSELF WHEN YOU LIFT IT.
Both should fit neatly, but FutonBarrier™ is designed to allow for the bending motion of the futon mattress on a frame so there should be some looseness.
- Place your mattress back on the frame. (REMEMBER DONÕT LIFT USING THE BEDBARRIER® OR FUTONBARRIER™.)
Added Peace of Mind Against Mites.
Washing FabricTechÕs mattress and pillow protectors in hot water thatÕs
130¡ or hotter will kill dust mites. But, for added assurance that not a
single one remains, or if you prefer washing in cooler water, consider
adding de-mite® to the wash cycle.
Just a small amount will thoroughly eliminate dust mites from your
protectors and any other washable bedding or clothing. Go to the
Products section for details on purchasing de-mite®.
